Teaching / Learning Styles

This program was developed by Dr. Anthony Gregorc of the University of Connecticut. He described innate learning and teaching styles based on how a person perceives the world and how a person organizes the world. The interaction of these components describes four unique learning styles. There is awareness that children learn using different styles and teachers teach using different styles. Children experience a variety of instructional activities using many teaching styles. Westover Teachers are trained to design lessons in all four styles. This insures that children have opportunity to learn in the style which is most suited to them, while also learning how to function in other styles when necessary.
