Student Application for the Seal of Biliteracy 2017-18

Seal of Biliteracy

Background:

Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy signed HB NO 7159 on 6/6/17. The Constitution State became the 27th state to offer the Seal of Biliteracy. 

Directions to Senior Applicants:

  1. Submit application to your guidance counselor no later than March 9, 2018.
  2. You will meet the Department Head of World Language or designee to set up a pathway to potentially achieving the Seal by March 31, 2018.
  3. Submit documentation of qualifying scores to your guidance counselor no later than the Tuesday after Memorial Day of 2018 (5/29/2018).
  4. To earn the Seal of Biliteracy in Connecticut, students must achieve a score of Intermediate 3 or higher. The AAPPL test demo can be found here: https://www.languagetesting.com/aappl-demo

Directions to Junior Applicants:

  1. Submit application to your guidance counselor no later than March 9, 2018.
  2. You will meet the Department Head of World Language or designee to set up a pathway to potentially achieving the Seal by September 30, 2018.
  3. Submit documentation of qualifying scores to your guidance counselor no later than the Tuesday after Memorial Day of your graduating year.
