Strawberry Hill Earns School of Distinction Honors

Strawberry Hill earns honors based on high performance
School of Distinction

Dear Parents,

I am proud to announce that Strawberry Hill has earned a “School of Distinction '' honor for high performance.  This honor is based on the CT Dept of Education (CSDE) Next Generation Accountability Report. The Accountability System is like a school report card that includes a standard set of indicators such as Literacy/Math Assessments, Attendance Rates and English Language Learner data.  The CSDE views these indicators as a “holistic, multifactor perspective of school performance that incorporates student growth over time.”

As mentioned in the January 30th Stamford Advocate article, Strawberry Hill is one of three schools that received this prestigious honor.  While two Stamford schools received the distinction for student growth, Strawberry Hill ranked as the top school in the district, receiving the distinction based on high performance.  In fact we are incredibly proud to say that Strawberry Hill ranked in the top 35 schools in the entire state! If you are interested in viewing our scores you can visit our snapshot comparison data: and also visit the State reporting site:

Keeping with the IB philosophy we celebrate this honor with a balanced perspective to the work ahead.  As you know, assessment results and accountability indicators are just one subset of our dynamic school community.  We are incredibly proud to encompass a multitude of characteristics that are not captured by a simple number. For one, the International Baccalaureate program is a compelling component to our success.  Our staff, students, and parents have embraced the tenets of Inquiry and The Learner Profile. Whether it is accolades in Music, Art, or traditional academia, we are excited to continue to grow and develop our passions.  I emphasize that our success is correlated to your active participation in reinforcing these principles at home. Our continued success is a collaborative effort grounded in our shared vision.

Thank you again to all our students, educators and parents!  We are grateful to serve our community.
