Dear Stilllmeadow Families and Staff,

Today, our school year officially comes to an end. This year more than ever I would like to express  my thanks to all of you. Without the partnership in this phase of distance learning, we would not have been able to support your children. This last trimester of school required not only that teachers dive in to a new way of teaching, but it necessitated parent support with children’s’ schedules, and use of technology. I am sure we can all agree that our level of proficiency with technology is now much improved.

There were many learning and community building events that I am proud to have celebrated with you all, from the daily read aloud, to sing-a-longs, fitness, and dance parties, and drawing classes. Student led read aloud and sharing during our afternoon school community gathering became a hit, and I am so proud of the writing and presentation skills that our students are developing. The virtual field day, genius hour presentations and our virtual/live Moving Up Ceremony for our fifth graders, all showed what we can do when we work in partnership. Please visit our school website to see the fifth grade memories slide show as well as view the Moving Up Ceremony if you are interested.

Finally as we part for the summer, I would like to encourage all of our families to participate in our Summer Reading Program, as well as the Governor’s Reading Challenge. You will have an opportunity to share your reading experiences with us in the fall. Information about these opportunities can also be found on our school website. We all await our Reading under the Stars Event, and I hope that we will all be back to enjoy this evening of literacy activities.

Congratulations to all on completion of the 2019-2020 school year, a year we will always remember! I wish you all an enjoyable, safe and restful summer vacation!
