On behalf of the staff, faculty, administration, and the Board of Education of Stamford Public Schools, I extend our warmest welcome. Rippowam Middle School is a premiere six through eight middle school that serves approximately 750 students.
Located in the heart of Stamford, we offer an International Baccalaureate program to all of our students. We provide a rigorous academic program that prepares our students for anything the world may throw at them. Our children are challenged to become creative thinkers, problem solvers, effective communicators, ethical leaders, and culturally aware citizens who positively impact our diverse world. At Rippowam, character matters as much as academics. Our diverse population of students provides organic opportunities to not simply tolerate difference but embrace it.
We have an amazing facility that shares a campus with one of Stamford's premiere high schools, AITE . Being that our building was one of Stamford's first high schools, we are fortunate to have a full size gymnasium, auditorium, as well as outdoor courts and fields.
I would argue what makes our school the best however, is our commitment to building relationships. Our staff deeply cares for our students, as evidenced by the relationships they form with your children. In fact, our charge is to incorporate student voice and choice anywhere possible (decision-making, curriculum etc.). As a result, our students are friendly, welcoming, rally to support each other and active in their desire to impact the community inside and outside the school. Our active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) sponsors numerous family events throughout the year that further support our robust community.
Our school truly is an amazing place. I invite you to come and see it first hand or virtually through our #RippIB Twitter hashtag.
See you around!
