Substituting at Stamford Public Schools

 
  • Substitute Teachers
    • Substitute Teachers with Stamford Public Schools receive $105 a day (effective November 1, 2020) for regular substitute assignments.  Long-Term Substitute Teachers (substitute teachers who remain in the same assignment for more than 30 days) must be certified in the subject area they are teaching, and receive $155 a day after the first 30 days. 
    • Minimum Qualifications to become a Substitute Teacher with Stamford Public Schools:
      • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree
      • Have an interest in student growth and development, be able to follow classroom lesson plans, and have good classroom discipline and management.
         
  • Substitute Paraeducators
    • Substitute Paraeducators with Stamford Public Schools receive $80.82 a day.
    • Minimum Qualifications to become a Substitute Paraeducator with Stamford Public Schools:
      • Hold 60 college credits or an Associate’s degree, or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment
         
  • Substitute Security Guards
    • Substitute Security Guards with Stamford Public Schools receive $96.00 a day (effective September 1, 2020).
    • Minimum Qualifications to become a Substitute Security Guard with Stamford Public Schools:
      • Hold Connecticut Security Officer Certification
      • Hold a high school diploma
