Technology device agreements and AUP forms are online now (sign) - help guides below
Families must sign them for the year in Power School to be in compliance and to use the school network or equipment.  Failure to complete can hold up device distribution and can result in restricted access, which directly impacts classwork and burdens teachers instructional methods.

Parent PowerSchool Accounts
Parents should email one of the SHS technology pros below for assistance.  Students can report issues in the media center or ask questions, but a direct request from parents is preferred. Please do not call as phone support is not available for the start of the school year.

*It is the parent/guardian's responsibility to ensure all contact records are up-to-date in PowerSchool and to remember login information.  Email and passwords not updated/remembered, are the number one cause of parent access issues.

DEVICE/TECHNOLOGY INSURANCE

Accidents happen, that’s why we’ve chosen School Device Coverage to offer an optional device insurance program for our district parents. Here are some benefits to device insurance:

  • Coverage for accidental damage, loss, and theft
  • No hidden fees, a one-time payment covers the device until the end of the school year
  • There are no claims limits, so if your child experiences more than one accidental damage, loss, or theft event, the device is still insured
  • If your child’s device needs repair or replacement, the insurance coverage will follow to any loaner device given automatically and at no extra charge

NOTE: “Parents or legal guardians are not required to purchase this optional student device insurance policy. The Stamford Public School System provides access to this insurance as a courtesy only. School Device Coverage (SDC) is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with the Stamford Public Schools.”

Grades 10-12 (devices)
Come to the media center if you need a school-provided device, or have issues with the one you have. This includes students in grades 10-12 that are new to SHS.

The Media center is open daily for student assistance 7:25am - 1:30pm.  It is a student's responsibility to maintain devices and seek help promptly.

Grade 9 (devices)
Students will be scheduled for technology distribution beginning Sept 1st, 2023 and will take place during Freshman seminar classes.  We will communicate directly with freshman on this.  Our goal is to have all students who need school-owned devices outfitted by Sept 15 if not earlier, but please be patient as this process takes time.  It is a student's responsibility to maintain devices and seek help promptly.

BYOD (bring your own device) 9-12 Students who have their own device should plan on bringing their devices starting the first full day of school.  Students may use their own devices for school work as long as they meet or exceed these requirements:

- 11" screen, 4gb memory, 802.11 b/g wireless, 40gb storage, virus protection
- Any student in grades K-12 may use a Chromebook, laptop or Apple Macbook
- Tablets/IPads and smartphones are not acceptable devices

- All students must use Chrome as their web browser

*Digital Art Students
If you are taking Photoshop or a similar digital art course you will need an upgraded ADOBE capable laptop.  Art teachers will indicate if you need to swap your computer in the media center, but it is the student's responsibility to tell the technology staff you are in an art class so we can give you the correct device.
