Services for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders:
The Stamford Public Schools provides a continuum of services for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The Stamford Public Schools follow the guidelines for the least restrictive environment for each and every child. Classrooms that specialize in providing services to students with ASD have been developed to assist students in developing the skills needed to participate with their peers in the inclusive environment. Students who require these services are referred through the Planning and Placement Team process. The ASD Curriculum guide attached gives a broad overview of services that the individual student may require.
Classrooms for student with Autism Spectrum Disorders are currently in the following school locations:
- Preschool at APPLES Early Childhood Development Center
- Elementary School K-5 at Northeast Elementary and Roxbury Elementary
- Middle School at Cloonan Middle School and Turn of River
- High School at Stamford High School
