Public Comment on Draft of BOE Regulations

The Board of Education (BOE) elected officials establish, adopt, and review Stamford Public Schools (SPS) policies. Once policies are adopted, the administrative team under the direction of the Superintendent then creates regulations to support how policies will be implemented in our schools. On March 23, 2021, the BOE adopted Policy 5002 (English) / Policy 5002 (Spanish) on Transgender, Nonbinary, and Gender Non-Conforming Youth. Administration is now working on finalizing the regulation for this policy and would like to provide an opportunity to members of the SPS Community to provide comments and feedback on the draft regulations prior to making a final decision. If you would like to provide comments or feedback on the draft regulations for BOE Policy 5002 please click here. You can find a link to the draft version of the regulation below. The form will be open for two weeks for public comment and will close on 10/31/21.

Going forward, we will continue to provide opportunities for public comment in this manner for policies and/or regulations on many different topics.  We look forward to the dynamic and collaborative process of finalizing the regulations and thank you in advance for your comments and feedback.
