Dear Families and Staff,
As we continue to transition back to the 2021-2022 school, we want to thank all of our students. Building principals are reporting that all are doing a nice job, as some return to school for the first time since March 2020. We want to remind staff and parents that social-emotional resources are available as needed, feel free to contact your school counselor, social worker, school psychologist or building principal, if you, or someone you know, needs support.
We would like to note that Stamford Public Schools (SPS) continues to be committed to providing transparent, accurate and timely information regarding cases of COVID-19 in our district. When SPS receives notification of a positive case, the Stamford Department of Health (DOH) conducts contact tracing. Families and/or staff members who are determined to be a close contact will be notified of the need to quarantine or self-isolate. Our COVID-19 Dashboard is updated every Friday with information about the number of SPS new COVID-19 positive cases and quarantine.
Open School Night
Open School Night for our Middle School families is scheduled for Tuesday, September 21 and for our High School families it is scheduled for Thursday, September 23. Traditionally, Open School Nights draw large crowds of parents to our schools. Due to concerns regarding the ability to maintain social distancing and mask requirements during these events, the decision has been made to hold Open School Nights virtually. Your school principal will share additional information about dates and times.
Technology Device Distribution
The technology support teachers with the support of the coordinator of technology are working to begin to distribute devices to students for the 2021-2022 school year. Please be reminded that families must complete an Acceptable Use Policy agreement annually. To date over 8,500 students have successfully completed this form in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. If you have not done so, your attention to this request is greatly appreciated. If you need assistance, please contact either the Office Support Specialist or the Parent Facilitator at your school.

Remember, next week we do not have any school on Thursday, September 16, 2021, for the Yom Kippur holiday.
Stay Safe and Healthy!
