The upcoming Connecticut Ballet annual production of Tchaikovsky’s holiday classic, The Nutcracker, will feature Turn of River Middle School Seventh Grader Sarah Barry in the role of ‘Clara.’ Barry began dancing at the age of four and is currently a dance student at Connecticut Ballet Center, official school of Connecticut Ballet. She will perform in all four public performances.
“Sarah is a gifted young dancer and it’s a treat to watch her develop into a confident, pre-professional performer. There is nothing quite like the role of ‘Clara’ to enable that growth,” said Connecticut Ballet President Brett Raphael.
Now in its 36th year, according to the organization, Connecticut Ballet features a talented and diverse roster of professional dancers from all over the world. A special component of the annual holiday presentation is the post-show, meet-and-greet with the guest stars in the lobby. Ticket-holders may obtain an autograph or have their photo taken with the Sugar Plum Fairy, her Cavalier, and Clara.
