Stamford Public Schools Hosted First Parent Pop-Up Webinar: Distance Learning Quick Tips for Mind, Body and Heart

Over 300 Stamford Public Schools (SPS) family members joined the district’s first-ever Parent Pop-Up Webinar on Thursday, May 21, 2020.  In an effort to provide families with tips to support them in the remaining weeks of Distance Teaching & Learning, SPS staff members provided quick tips and resources for developing productive habits of Mind, Body and Heart. The district hosted two webinar sessions, one with an English-speaking panel, followed by a second Spanish-speaking panel.

Associate Superintendent for School Development Olympia Della Flora and Associate Superintendent for Intervention and Student Support Michael Fernandes served as moderators for the English session, which featured panelists Christian Witschy, Rogers International School Technology Professional Development Leader, Camille Quattrocchi, Department Head Physical Education and Joseph O’Callaghan Department Head Social Work.

Lucas Romero, Westhill Paraprofessional; Elba Sims, Turn of River English Learner Teacher; Maria Cisneros, LMSW School-Based Health Center; and Joseph Hurtado, Family Centers served as the panelists for the Spanish-speaking session.
