The Stamford All-School Musical, sponsored by the Stamford Public Schools, presents the musical Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka, featuring a cast and crew of more than 100 students in grades five through 12 from 19 area schools, beginning December 1. Willy Wonka is based on Dahl's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and features songs from the 1971 movie (starring the late Gene Wilder of Stamford), plus new songs by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley.
Now in its 12th year, the Stamford All-School Musical is an afterschool musical theater program, sponsored by the Stamford Public Schools, open to Stamford students or residents in grades 5 through 12. Each year, the Stamford All-School Musical mounts a full-scale, professional-level musical production under the guidance of theater professionals, educators and dedicated volunteers.
Join Charlie Bucket and the four zany other Golden Ticket winners as they experience the once-in-a-lifetime tour of Wonka's gloriously mysterious chocolate. Willy Wonka is a delight for the whole family and a chocolate/candy lover's dream come true.
