Message From Superintendent Tamu Lucero on Governor's Announcement for Reopening Schools

Dr. Lucero

SPS Staff and Families,

As you have probably heard or read by now, Governor Lamont announced on Thursday that Connecticut schools will return to in-person learning this fall, with heightened safety and security protocols. While we are all excited at the prospect of having students and staff together again, their safety and security continues to be our top priority.

The Stamford Public Schools (SPS) Re-Entry Taskforce will continue its work toward ensuring proper safety and security protocols are established and implemented upon opening day. Additionally, as we have learned over the past few months, circumstances can change in a moment, so we will also be developing contingency plans in the event that the situation worsens. The governor has requested that each district develop a hybrid plan, much like we were already working on, as well as a full-time remote learning plan.

Please visit the Resources During Closure page of this website to view a copy of the governor's plan.

Enjoy this beautiful weather and continue to stay safe.

Superintendent Lucero
