Stamford Public Schools (SPS) announced Hart Magnet Elementary School Principal Linda Darling was recently named “Stamford Administrator of the Year,” by the Connecticut Association of School Administrators (CASA). CASA, a professional organization open to all Connecticut school administrators, recognized Darling among six Connecticut administrators, each nominated by their district, at the organizations’ annual dinner last month.
According to the organization the award was created to give more positive recognition to deserving administrators. Nominations were accepted from any of the 40 member districts.
Members of the executive board of the Stamford Administrative Unit chose Darling from among all of its administrators to represent Stamford for CASA’s inaugural award.
“We chose Linda because of her total commitment to the students and families in the Stamford Public Schools for 42 years,” said SAU secretary and Newfield Principal Lisa Saba-Price. “Hart Magnet has grown and flourished under her leadership. She is a veteran educator who has given her heart and soul to this district. It was especially significant for me to be able to present her with this award, as she has been my boss, mentor, colleague and friend for 27 years.”
