Standards provide clear expectations for what students should know and be able to do by the end of each school year. Currently, Connecticut State Standards are used to design curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Connecticut and many other states have adopted the new Common Core State Standards. These consistent, real-world learning goals, were developed to ensure all students, are graduating high school prepared for college, career and life.
Connecticut is a governing state as a part of the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium, working to develop assessments that will accurately measure a student's progress toward college and career readiness. To learn more click here.
