A Note from the Superintendent
Dear Students and Families,
Stamford Public Schools is a diverse learning community of students from a wide range of backgrounds and with disparate interests. As a learning organization, Stamford Public Schools is committed to helping all students realize their academic potential. We do this by providing programs of study in a wide range of subjects, so all students are prepared for success beyond high school, whether they are pursuing a 2 or 4-year college degree, completing a technical training program, or joining the workforce immediately after graduation.
Our 2024-25 Program of Studies details the academic opportunities available to our more than 600 students at our Academy of Information Technology & Engineering (AITE). AITE offers unique concentrations in Information Technologies, Career and Technical Education, Architecture & Engineering, Business, Digital Arts, or Biomedical Sciences. Other opportunities that exist at AITE are the Cisco Networking Academy and Virtual High School. Developing such a rich and varied program of studies requires a great deal of time and effort. I am grateful to our teachers, administrators and the entire Teaching & Learning Department for their hard work in creating these wonderful opportunities for our students.
I encourage you to take some time as a family to examine the rich opportunities available to your children for the 2024-2025 academic year. If you have questions, please reach out to your child’s school counselor. Our school counselors are certified professionals with the skills and expertise to help your child discover their academic strengths and interests and guide them in their high school journey.
Enjoy exploring the SPS Program of Studies and best of luck in the 2024-25 school year!
Dr. Tamu Lucero
Superintendent of Schools
