Stamford Public Schools Revises Parent-Teacher Conference Dates for 2025-26
The Stamford Public Schools (SPS) annual calendar, including school holidays, is set by the Board of Education. Early release days, professional development days, and parent-teacher conference dates are set by the SPS Teaching & Learning Department in collaboration with the Stamford Education Association (SEA), the union representing Stamford’s teachers and other certified educators.
In reviewing the calendar for 2025-26, the District—in consultation with the SEA and the Stamford Administrative Unit (SAU)—is revising the dates for parent teacher conferences as follows:
- Fall: October 15-17, 2025 (previously December 17-19)
- Spring: February 18-20, 2026 (previously March 17-19)
For families of elementary and middle school students, the new dates align with the conclusion of the iReady diagnostic testing that takes place at the beginning and middle of each school year. Hosting conferences immediately following iReady testing will give teachers an opportunity to engage families about student progress and what additional support children might need to reach their end of year academic goals. The earlier conference dates will also enable teachers to engage parents earlier in the school year regarding their child(ren)'s transition to a new grade level.
In the high schools, the new dates align more closely to the beginning of each academic semester, providing an opportunity for teachers and parents to meet earlier about academic expectations and progress toward learning goals. The October conference dates will also give teachers the opportunity to discuss any concerns about a student’s transition to a new grade level.
The district calendar has been updated to reflect the new dates. The calendar is available to download in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Ukrainian.
