51 Seniors Were Honored at the Ceremony on Tuesday, May 26

Stamford Public Schools is pleased to announce that 51 students in the Stamford High School (SHS) Class of 2026 have completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

The IBDP is a globally recognized, externally assessed college-preparatory program offered at more than 3,500 schools in 155 countries. Stamford High School is one of only 11 high schools in Connecticut (public or private) to offer the IBDP.

SHS was approved to offer the IBDP in May 2018 and the first class of 12 IBDP candidates graduated in 2020. In 2022, SHS was approved to offer the IB Middle Years Programme (IBMYP), making it possible for academically motivated students to participate in the IB Programme during all four years of high school.

The International Baccalaureate Programme at Stamford High School has grown in popularity each year, and this year’s group of 51 IBDP candidates is the largest in the program’s history. During the 2025-26 school year, nearly 400 SHS students in grades 9-12 were enrolled in the IBMYP and IBDP Programmes. In addition to the 51 IBDP candidates, there were 195 freshmen and sophomores, 103 juniors, and an additional 44 senior course candidates enrolled.

Stamford High School hosted a ceremony on Tuesday, May 26 to recognize the 51 seniors who completed the IBDP as well as sophomores who completed the IBMYP. During this ceremony, IBDP candidates received their IB regalia to be worn during the Stamford High School graduation ceremony on Wednesday, June 17 at 2 pm at Boyle Stadium.

The IBDP curriculum is specifically designed to help students develop the critical thinking, research, and writing skills needed to succeed in college, and more than 1,000 colleges and universities in the United States recognize the IBDP and offer credit or advanced standing to students who complete the program.

Following are the members of the Stamford High School Class of 2026 who completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme along with the college or university they will attend.
