44 Students in the Class of 2026 Completed STEM-Based Project Lead the Way Pathway Programs at AITE

Stamford Public Schools is pleased to announce that 44 seniors in the Academy of Information Technology & Engineering (AITE) Class of 2026 have completed Project Lead the Way Pathways in Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science, or Engineering.

PLTW is a nationwide non-profit organization that has been preparing students for careers, college and lifelong success for almost 30 years through hands-on, project-based learning connected to career and technical education. Research shows that PLTW graduates earn higher wages and pursue STEM degrees at a higher rate than their non-PLTW peers.

AITE is part of a national PLTW community of PreK-12 schools, higher education institutions, and more than 100 industry partners united in the mission to prepare students for school, work, and life. In each of the last five years, AITE has been recognized as a PLTW Distinguished School for its commitment to increasing student access, engagement, and achievement in career-connected learning. AITE was one of only 10 schools in Connecticut to receive the honor in 2025-26.

AITE is a tuition-free, public, interdistrict magnet school that draws 75 percent of its students from within Stamford, with the remainder enrolling from districts throughout Fairfield County. AITE offers a college-preparatory curriculum focused on science, technology, engineering, digital arts, and mathematics (STEAM). Enrollment is offered through an annual lottery. The lottery application for the 2027-2028 school year will be available on September 15, 2026.
