School Based Health Centers

Enroll your child in Family Centers School Based Health Centers!

Our mission is to keep your child healthy, happy and in school. Our Health Centers are located in seven schools in Stamford. We operate much like a small doctor’s office does. Our medical team works closely with the school nurse and is available during the school day to assist students with sick visits, physicals, immunizations and more. We have Mental Health Clinicians to provide individual and/or group therapy to students, as well as to families that may be struggling with their child’s behavior or mood. If necessary, we have access to a psychiatrist. Our Westhill High School location is staffed with a Dentist and Hygienist that is available to all Stamford Public School students.

The School Based Health Center is open during regular school hours and select sites may be open during school holidays and summer vacations.

While we do bill insurance (where applicable) and request that information on our enrollment form, there are no out of pocket costs for any of our services provided to your child. Regardless of insurance coverage, no student is ever turned away from receiving our professional care. Additionally, your child can access School Based Health Center services even if they have a medical or dental provider in the community. We will coordinate their care with them as you see fit.

Please take a few minutes to fill out the enrollment form. This one-time enrollment will allow your child to access School Based Health Center services throughout the remainder of their time as a student in Stamford Public Schools.  Even if your child never needs our services, we still encourage enrollment. You can also fill out the form electronically by visiting our website at https://www.familycenters.org/School-Based
