2026-2027 Budget Documents

Stamford Public Schools Budgetary Process

Each year, the Stamford Public Schools develops its Operating Budget to support high‑quality instruction, staffing, and student services across the district. The Superintendent begins the process by preparing a recommended budget based on instructional priorities, enrollment projections, contractual obligations, and community needs. The Board of Education reviews, adjusts, and adopts a final budget request, which is then submitted to the City of Stamford for approval. The Board of Finance and the Board of Representatives review the SPS budget as part of the City’s annual budget cycle, holding public hearings and making adjustments before adopting the final spending plan for the upcoming fiscal year.
