Weekly Message from the Superintendent
Dear Staff and Families,
With the Thanksgiving Holiday upon us, I’d like to begin this week’s message by thanking our teachers, administrators, staff, students, and families for making Stamford Public Schools a warm and welcoming learning community.
Special Education Teacher Appreciation Day!
Saturday, December 2, 2023 is Special Education Teacher Appreciation Day! Our dedicated special education teachers and staff work hard every day to meet the unique and specific needs of students with disabilities. We are fortunate to have so many caring and compassionate special education teachers and staff working for Stamford Public Schools. Please join me in thanking them today and every day!

Whether you cheer for the Vikings or the Black Knights, this is always a fun-filled way to start the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Friends of Stamford High (FOSH) annual Christmas Tree sale begins this Friday, November 24 at 9:00 a.m. This is one of Stamford High’s biggest fundraisers and is run entirely by parent, student, and teacher/staff volunteers. Thank you to All-School Musical co-producers Nancy Freedman and Amy Guttmann and their amazing team for all they do to bring this incredible performing arts opportunity to Stamford students.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Please mark your calendars for Parent Teacher Conferences which are coming up on Wednesday, December 13, Thursday, December 14 and Friday, December 15. Conferences are an opportunity for parents to check in with teachers and staff about their child(ren)’s academic progress. School principals and classroom teachers will share more information about conferences after Thanksgiving break.
Kindness Project
Finally, don’t forget that “The Stamford Kindness Project” is in full swing! This initiative – hosted by the City of Stamford in partnership with the interfaith community, nonprofits, and local businesses – aims to spread kindness and positivity in Stamford and beyond. The goal is for the community to perform 100,000 acts of kindness by the end of the year. Please click here for more information.
I hope you have a restful and relaxing Thanksgiving break with family and friends!
Stay Safe and Healthy!
