Weekly Message from the Superintendent
Dear Staff and Families,
The next Café con la Super is Monday, December 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Government Center Cafeteria. Representatives from the district's food services vendor, Chartwells, and community partner Filling in the Blanks will discuss food security and nutrition. This event will include a sampling of Chartwells menu offerings. Translation in English is available for non-Spanish speakers.
Early Kindergarten Admission Assessment
Children who turn 5 years old on or after September 2, 2024 must successfully complete an early admission assessment to begin kindergarten in Fall 2024. Assessment appointments are available monthly at APPLES. Due to high demand, we are already booking into February 2024 and beyond. Please click here for more information or to sign up.
Calendar Committee
The SPS Calendar Committee, composed of SPS staff, parents, union representatives and community members, met three times this fall to provide feedback about the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 calendars. Thank you to Andy George and Kathleen Steinberg for supporting the committee in developing, distributing, and analyzing the community and staff surveys. Please click here to see the survey results. Draft calendars will be presented during the BOE Labor Committee Meeting in January 2024.
The last month of the year is a busy time in Stamford Public Schools, with many community events on the calendar. Please be sure to check out some of these opportunities to support our school community.
