Weekly Message from the Superintendent
Dear Families and Staff,
The 32nd Annual Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular is this Sunday at 12 pm. This year’s parade will feature marching bands including our own Westhill High School Vikings, 15 giant character balloons, the Westhill Viking Cheerleaders, the Westhill Jr. ROTC, dance companies, and much, much more.
Westover’s George Rigakos, the 2025-26 SPS Teacher of the Year, and Stillmeadow’s Ronald Griggs, the 2025-26 Paraeducator of the Year, will be waving to the crowd from one of the parade floats where they will be joined by a group of SPS students. This year’s Teacher & Paraeducator of the Year float celebrates the superheroes in our schools who demonstrate the awesome power of teaching.
It looks like the weather will be perfect for a parade, so please join us on Sunday in downtown Stamford!

Thank You, Substitutes!
Today is National Substitute Educator Day. Our substitutes help keep students on track and learning in the absence of their teachers, and we would not be able to meet the needs of our students without them.
Please join me in thanking all of our hardworking daily, long-term, and building substitutes.
Thanksgiving Holiday
As a reminder, schools will follow the early dismissal schedule on Wednesday, November 26 and all schools will be closed on November 27 and November 28 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.
