Dear SPS Community:

Last night the Stamford Public Schools community came together to celebrate the 2026 Teacher of the Year Cohort, the 2026 SPS Spotlight Award Winners, and the 2026 SPS Paraeducator of the Year and runners up. This event is one of the highlights of the school year as it is an opportunity for us to celebrate the district’s best and brightest educators and paraeducators as nominated and chosen by their peers.

On behalf of the Board of Education and the senior leadership team, I would like to extend another congratulations to the 2026 Teacher of the Year, Marcella Barrios of Rogers International School, the 2026 Paraeducator of the Year, Mery Lopez of Hart Magnet Elementary, and all of this year's honorees. I’d also like to thank the teacher and paraeducator committees that dedicated their time and energy to the nomination and selection process.
