Weekly Message from the Superintendent
Dear SPS Community:
Last night, members of the Board of Education and the senior leadership team joined with the Stamford Education Association and other SPS employee unions to recognize our retirees and those who achieved service milestones during the 2024-25 school year. This year, the district will say farewell to 54 retirees, who represent 2 percent of the Stamford Public Schools total workforce.
Many of our retirees and honorees have committed their entire adult lives to Stamford Public Schools, and they have earned our gratitude and congratulations for a job well done. To our staff members who will be retiring this month, I wish you many years of health and happiness and thank you for your service and commitment to our students and families. For those who achieved significant service milestones, thank you for committing 25, 35, or 45 years in service to our school community!

Stamford Garden Club Lettuce Challenge
Yesterday afternoon, Chief Academic Officer Amy Beldotti joined the Stamford Garden Club to announce the winners of the 12th Annual Lettuce Challenge. Students across the City of Stamford, with the support of their teachers and a few tips from the Stamford Garden Club, grew lettuce this spring in support of the District’s science curriculum. Congratulations to all the students who participated in this hands-on project, especially the students at Davenport, Dolan, Rogers, Stillmeadow, Toquam and Westover who produced this year’s award-winning lettuce!
Reminder: Annual Physicals Required for Grades K, 7, and 10
The State of Connecticut requires students to have an annual physical before entering Kindergarten, 7th Grade, and 10th Grade. Please bring this form to your child’s medical appointment so it can be completed for the school nurse. If your child does not have a healthcare provider they see regularly, click here for a list of providers that offer school entry physicals.
