Superintendent's Weekly Message - June 18, 2026

Dear SPS Community:

Congratulations to the 1,153 students in the Stamford Public Schools Class of 2026 who received their high school diplomas this week from AITE, Stamford High School, and Westhill High School!

Here are a few highlights about the Class of 2026:

790 college-bound graduates will attend 170+ colleges and universities
223 graduates earned the Connecticut Seal of Biliteracy
25 graduates have committed to play collegiate athletics
51 students completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
44 students completed a Project Lead the Way STEM Pathway
33 students earned diplomas through the SPS Anchor Alternative Secondary Program
30 students completed the Academy of Finance
29 students completed the Stamford Regional Agriscience Program
24 graduates earned their Certified Nursing Assistant designation
5 students earned an Associates Degree from CT State Norwalk through the Early College Studies Program

Whether pursuing a college degree, serving in the Armed Forces, training for a skilled profession, or entering the workforce, our graduates are prepared to make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world. We are proud of all that you have accomplished and look forward to seeing the impact you will make in the years ahead.

Mobile Food Pantry Returns to Stamford on June 20

The Filling in the Blanks Mobile Food Pantry will be in Stamford on Saturday, June 20. The Food Pantry will be set up in the Cloonan Middle School parking lot along Powell Place between W. North and Ivy Streets. If you or someone you know could benefit from the food pantry, please plan to attend between 6:30 and 9 am.

Kindergarten Registration Event June 27

The Office of Family & Community Engagement is hosting a Kindergarten Registration Event on Saturday, June 27 from 10 am to 1 pm at the SPS Welcome Center. Language support will be available for Spanish and Haitian-Creole speakers. Please attend if you need assistance with registration and bring the following with you:

Photo ID of parent or legal guardian
Child’s birth certificate or other official documentation proving child's age and name of parents
Proof of address (2 forms)

Updated 2026-27 Calendars with Early Release Days

The 2026-27 school year calendars have been updated with all early release days, open school nights, and parent-teacher conference dates. Please click here to view or download the calendar in English, Spanish, Haitian-Creole or Ukrainian.

Parents: Activate Your ParentSquare Account

Stamford Public Schools is moving to ParentSquare for school-home communication. Effective July 1, all school, grade-level, and classroom communications about the 2026-27 school year will be sent via ParentSquare.

All currently-enrolled SPS parents with children in grades PreK-11 during the 2025-26 school year are in the ParentSquare database.

To activate your ParentSquare account follow these steps:

Visit parentsquare.com/signin
In the Register box, type in your email address or phone number listed in PowerSchool
Check your email for a verification code and enter where prompted
Confirm your account information

Account activation is required to use features such as two-way messaging, conference scheduling, event registrations, volunteer sign-ups, and electronic forms. To get the most out of ParentSquare, we also encourage you to download the free mobile app (iOS or Android).

Reminder: Annual Physicals Required for Students Entering Grades K, 7, and 10

The State of Connecticut requires students to have an annual physical before entering Kindergarten, 7th Grade, and 10th Grade. Please bring this form to your child’s medical appointment so it can be completed for the school nurse. If your child does not have a healthcare provider they see regularly, click here for a list of providers that offer school entry physicals.
