Meeting for Families of Students with Disabilities is February 11
The Stamford Coalition of Parents Expecting Success (SCOPES) meets next Wednesday, February 11 at 6 pm at the SPS Welcome Center and via Zoom. This month, families will hear from representatives of the Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind (BESB) and the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS).
The meeting will be presented with simultaneous Spanish and Haitian Creole interpretation. Please register to let us know if you will participate and if you need interpretation services.
Social Emotional Learning Info Session is February 19
Social-emotional learning is the process through which individuals develop the skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set goals, show empathy, build healthy relationships, and make responsible decisions. Social-emotional learning competencies are crucial for success in school, at work, and in life.
Please join Coordinator of Access and Opportunity, Paola Ochoa, on Thursday, February 19 at 6:30 pm for a virtual SEL information session in collaboration with Urban Assembly. During this session, parents will learn more about SEL and how it contributes to student success.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are February 18-20
Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up on Wednesday, February 18, Thursday, February 19, and Friday, February 20. Students will follow the early dismissal schedule on those days.
Please take advantage of this opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher(s) regarding your child’s academic progress toward end-of-year learning goals. Your child’s teacher or the school principal will share more information about how to schedule an in-person or virtual meeting.
School Climate Survey for Families Opens February 17
Get ready to share feedback about your child(ren)’s school(s) during the annual School Climate Survey. The family survey opens Tuesday, February 17. Information from the Climate Survey is used to make improvements in our schools. An email with links to the family survey will be sent on February 17.
Please note, teachers, staff, and students will have the opportunity to take the School Climate Survey in March.
Middle and High School First Semester Grades
Just a reminder that final first semester grades for middle and high school students will be posted in PowerSchool by 5 pm today. Please take time this weekend to review your child’s grades and be sure to reach out to your child’s teacher or school administrator if you have questions or concerns.
