The Stamford Board of Education (BOE) voted on Thursday, March 2, 2017, to confirm the selection of ABM, to provide Stamford Public Schools (SPS) with facilities management services. SPS provided ABM with a conditional award letter last week. The contract with ABM will commence April 1 and will run until June 30, 2018, with a one year option. ABM has nearly 100 years’ experience in providing facilities management services.
“After a thorough needs analysis and comprehensive RFP process, the selection committee recommended ABM for this important role in our district,” said Stamford BOE President Geoff Alswanger. “The Board is confident in the selection committee’s integrity and commitment to making the best decision for our schools at this time.”
“I would like to personally thank those individuals who have partnered with Stamford Public Schools in the past,” said Superintendent Earl Kim, “They have many accomplishments to their credit including maintaining facilities in a time of significantly reduced spending, assisting with the effort to secure grant funding for the New School at Strawberry Hill, managing costs and enhancing revenues.” Kim added, “I have the utmost confidence in the process taken to select ABM, and I am sure they will serve our schools well. I look forward to welcoming them to our community and working with them going forward.”
